History of USA Mission

Jesus said you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).

In mid-August of 2004, Precious People began to actively witness the love of God within its own Jerusalem, the mission field of the poor and homeless in Tulsa.

Present Ministry

The present outreaches of Precious People International include a weekly service for the homeless on Monday afternoons at 4:30pm and a large outreach for the homeless on the third Sunday of every month at 2pm all in downtown Tulsa.

Weekly Monday services at 4:30pm for the homeless begin with a testimony time from the residents of something good God has done for the homeless recently. The lead minister shares a relevant message from the Bible—messages can be heard on the multimedia link at the top of this page. An altar call is given where people have the opportunity to give their lives over to Christ for the very first time or rededicate their lives to Jesus Christ. A separate call is made for people to receive prayer in line with the message that was shared. Before the service even begins, there is an essential clothing item and snack waiting for the people at their seats. For the holiday outreaches a special gift such as a new large print Bible are given to residents who need them.

The third Sunday of the month outreaches at 2pm begins with a generous meal for the homeless residents. We have been serving anywhere from 150-250 meals at these services. Following this meal, we have a service for those who want to attend. Again, the minister shares a message relating to the spiritual needs of the people. Recently, Jonathan shared a message entitled You Are the Apple of God’s Eye. An altar call is made where people can give their lives over to Christ for the very first time or recommit their lives back to Jesus. After the altar call, Precious People gives away essential clothing items and Bibles.

We hold these Monday and Sunday services because we want these people to know that God loves them and that someone cares for them. I have heard the homeless express their appreciation for these outreaches. People are becoming followers of Jesus Christ through the ministry of Precious People International!

Quick Testimony from A Monday Afternoon Outreach

On December 1, 2008, Jonathan shared a message entitled Which Will You Choose? The gist of the message was to encourage them to give out to others even less fortunate than themselves especially during the Christmas season.

The following Monday December 8th, 2008, during testimony time, one of the residents excitedly shared that he had put into practice the message of giving of himself to help others during the week. This ministry is changing lives. Thank you for your prayers and resources.

Ministry to the street and bridge dwellers of downtown Tulsa

On Friday nights, Precious People International reaches out with a team to the street and bridge dwellers of downtown Tulsa.

The team drives out to downtown Tulsa and normally offers people a soft drink and sometimes food. After offering them physical food, the team members offer the most important food of all - the Gospel. Many people are giving their lives over to Jesus at these outreaches.

Give financially to help fund the winning of the lost to Christ in Tulsa and to minister to the needy that we come in contact with.
